Community Service
How does it work in DC?

1. First go to the probation office, to get a referral to the Community Service department.

2. Get a date and time for the group orientation meeting.

3. Attend the orientation meeting and listen to the general lecture

4. Meet with one of the Directors to get a specific work assignment and location

5. Call the designated supervisor at the organization you have been assigned to

6. Show up at the agreed time, and perform the duties assigned.

7. Upon completion, get the form signed by the supervisor of the project.

Requirements:
You Probation Officer must call the Directors and get a referral to attend Orientation  
This is so that the Directors will have time to get your file when you attend the meeting.

Orientation Meeting:
10:00 Orientation as a group, usually every Wednesday

What Forms Need to Be Filled Out?


1. General list of Community Service. Locations, including the number of hours that you must complete.


2. You will be required to do at least 4 hours for "Special Projects" that come from the Mayor's office as one of your assignments


3. Time Sheet for the first Community Service location


(Optional) You may receive a Time Sheet for a second location

Depending on the location, you may have a contract to sign, which you will receive at the site.

a designated Community Service Coordinator will mail the forms directly to CSOSA.
